10DLC

10DLC, short for 10-digit long code, is the US carrier system for application-to-person (A2P) business text messaging from standard local phone numbers. Businesses register their brand and each messaging campaign through The Campaign Registry before sending.

What is 10DLC?

10DLC means 10-digit long code: an ordinary local phone number used to send business texts. US carriers require businesses that text from these numbers to register under the A2P 10DLC program, identifying the company and describing each campaign, so carriers can tell legitimate senders from spam.

Why does 10DLC registration matter for real estate investors?

Unregistered business texts from local numbers are filtered or blocked by carriers, and registered senders get better delivery. Registration asks for your business details, such as your EIN, and a description of how people opted in and how they opt out. Campaigns that look like unsolicited marketing can be rejected.

Does 10DLC registration make my texts TCPA compliant?

No. 10DLC is a carrier registration requirement, while the TCPA is a federal law about consent for calls and texts. You need both. Registration helps delivery; it does not give you permission to text anyone. Honor every opt-out immediately and get legal advice on consent for your outreach.

How does Trident handle 10DLC?

Trident includes 10DLC registration on every plan, sends from your registered business line, records STOP replies and blocks further texts automatically, and lets you mark contacts Do Not Call. Plans start at $99 a month with a usage credit included, and every action after that has a published rate.
